IT’S NOMINATION AND ELECTION TIME!

NABSE, ARE YOU READY?

NABSE Members, are you ready to lead and continue the business of the National Alliance of Black School Educators, Inc.

On behalf of the nominating committee, we would like to announce that nominations and an election will occur during the November 20th- November 24, 2024, conference in Atlanta, Georgia for the following positions:

NABSE National Officer:

  • *President-elect

Regional Representatives:

  • *Western Region
  • *Northeast Region
  • *Midwest Region
  • *Southeast Region

Commissions:

  • *Administration Commission

Nominations for the office of President-elect will be taken and announced at the 1st delegate assembly Thursday, November 21, 2024, and the nominees will deliver a 2- minute speech during the 2nd delegate assembly Saturday, November 23, 2024. Election will occur in the Spring of 2025.

Nominations for the office of Commission chair and Commission secretary will take place in the commission’s meeting during the conference on Friday, November 22, 2024. Election will occur in the Spring of 2025.

Nominations and election for Regional Representatives will occur during the Affiliate Presidents meeting during the 2024 conference, Thursday, November 21, 2024. Elected regional representatives will take the oath of office at the end of the conference during the Dr. Debra P. Wolfe Banquet, Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Criteria: 

  • The criteria for nomination as a general officer (President-elect) shall be as follows:
    • Must be a member in good standing with
    • Must hold membership with an
    • Must have attended at least three NABSE conferences in the last five
    • Must be present at the time of nomination and is a registered
    • Should have given service to
    • Should have given service to an
    • Should have shown other leadership
    • Shall possess at least one degree in
    • The candidate must be present at the time of nomination and a registered
  • The criteria for nomination as a Regional Representative shall be as follows:
    • The candidate shall be a sitting Local Affiliate President
    • The candidate must be a member in good standing with
    • The candidate must have attended at least three NABSE conference in the last five years.
    • The candidate is knowledgeable about the region and its
    • The candidate is prepared to fulfill the mission of facilitating membership, communication, interaction, networking, and problem solving among its region’s local affiliate presidents.
    • The candidate must be present at the time of nomination and is a registered.
  • The criteria for nomination to Commission Officers shall be as follows:
    • The candidate must be a member in good standing of
    • The candidate should have been a member of the Commission for three or more years, as evidenced by the official Commission attendance log.
    • The candidate should have attended three or more Commission meetings within the last five-year period.
    • The candidate is knowledgeable about the purpose and function of the Commission and has participated actively in its program.
    • The candidate is present at the time of nomination and is a registered
