Location: Remote/Hybrid | Required Travel for Conferences and Planning Meetings
Position Summary
The Director of Strategic Communications and Global Advancement advances NABSE’s visibility, reach, and impact through strategic messaging, multimedia engagement, coalition building, and international partnerships. This position leads NABSE’s communication efforts, event promotion, and global engagement initiatives that expand the organization’s influence and strengthen its voice in educational equity.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing, Communications & Strategy
- Lead integrated communications across digital, print, and social platforms.
- Create multimedia content (videos, newsletters, graphics, podcasts).
- Promote NABSE’s programs, events, and advocacy efforts.
- Align communications with national priorities and leadership messaging.
Podcast Production
- Launch and manage a monthly podcast spotlighting thought leaders and educators.
- Oversee guest booking, scripting, editing, and distribution.
Event Marketing
- Lead event promotion for NABSE’s Annual Conference and national events.
- Ensure alignment between programming, sponsorship visibility, and public engagement.
Coalition Coordination
- Serve as communications lead for the Coalition of Allies.
- Facilitate joint campaigns and shared messaging.
Membership & Sponsorship Support
- Drive membership campaigns and storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop sponsorship collateral.
Global Engagement
- Cultivate international partnerships and cross-cultural programming.
- Represent NABSE in global education networks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Communications, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit communications, event promotion, or global advocacy.
- Proficient in tools like Canva, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and podcast platforms.
- Excellent writing, branding, and public-facing skills.
- Strong commitment to global equity and Black educational advancement.
